A two-day training in facilitating with the Circle of Health, in Prince Edward Island on October 20-21, 2010. The workshop will draw on competencies and activities outlined in the Circle of Health Facilitator’s Handbook developed by The Quaich.
Participants will be prepared to: 1. Facilitate groups using the Circle of Health 2. Provide technical support for Internet facilitation (optional)
The sessions are based on adult learning principles and are interactive providing opportunities for new learning, sharing of experience, networking and feedback from peers and workshop facilitators. Prior to the workshop, participants will complete a self assessment of facilitation skills and learning styles which will be built upon during the workshop.
The workshop will integrate five basic components that are essential to working with the Circle of Health: 1. Learning styles 2. Intersectoral collaboration 3. Linking health, safety & well-being 4. Cross cultural knowledge exchange 5. Literacy
Day 1 will focus on Fundamentals of Facilitation (including Introduction to Facilitation on the Internet), while Day 2 will enhance skills in Facilitating with the Circle of Health.
A Circle of Health kit, Facilitator’s Handbook and certificate of participation will be provided by The Quaich Inc. A separate session on technical support for Internet facilitation will be provided (optional evening session).
